Fallstudie: Bessere Führung durch professionelles Leadership-Verständnis
1. Description of the initial situation
The automotive supplier is one of the world's leading companies selling automotive parts to dealers and, depending on the location, to private customers. The product range covers all parts of all models of all automotive brands. Leadership in the automotive industry has often been characterized by a hands-on approach of learning by doing. This often led to conflicts, problems and, in the worst case, employee turnover. This was to be addressed proactively so that leadership could be learned in a structured and professional manner. The main objective of the project was to convey leadership theory and practice in a well-founded and practical manner.
2. Client's goal
The aim was to introduce a heterogeneous group of managers to the topic of sustainable leadership and the concept of leadership in a structured manner. The particular request was to not only discuss theories, but to directly address applicable practical scenarios. The overall goal of the one-day workshop was that all managers, all coming from different backgrounds and having different experiences and company affiliation, will be able to go back to their daily business in a good mood and and hands-on techniques.
3. Format of the course (on-site)
The seminar took place on-site at the premises of the Kitzmann Institute. The physical separation from everyday business life ensured that there would be no disturbance due to work related subjects. Interaction among the participants was one of many advantages of doing the seminar in person. Theory and practice were equally mentioned, while a special focus was placed on immediate applicability and practical relevance. The format also provided sufficient time for questions and intercollegial exchange.
4. Result and future outlook
The course were evaluated by the Kitzmann Institute. The automotive supplier also conducted a follow-up evaluation. The entire training was rated as a complete success. The mixture of scientifically based theory paired with exercises based on real experience was particularly appreciated. Furthermore, it was positively mentioned that the discussion of real-life cases in a confidential setting added an exceptional value.
